Game Crashing on Windows 10?

There seems that we have a technical issue with our game on Windows 10 which is unfortunately impacting your game play. 

Please note that our developers are already aware of this and are working hard to find a resolution as quickly as possible. You can follow this thread for updates as I will inform here once it's fixed.

If you do have issues with Windows 10, comment below and let us know what's happening so we have as many details as possible and that'll help the development of the fix.

We're really sorry for the inconvenience and in the meantime, play from a different devices if you have the option.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for posting. There seem to be two separate issues though, one on Windows 10 and the other with Facebook (game not loading). In order for us to keep a clear understanding on what's going on, please only comment here if you are using Windows 10 and Windows 10 only .

a slight technical problem its been going on weeks I like to play on win 10 app (the only device I play on for new levels) it crashed at least 6 times this week mid way through game. after a lot of effort to build up space dash and boosters from daily sugar drop challenge we have been losing them like running water through our hands!! please fix this there are many many players most annoyed by this slight problem pffffft I would say a big problem thank you

Agreed! Just as I was finishing Level 5 of Bubblegum Hill it crashed! It felt like a slap in the face. I lost 4 boosters and 20min of my daily free time allowance and now countless lives.More than a "SLIGHT" headache. Ugh! But I'm such a Soda -Head I kept coming back for more punishment until finally I gave up for the day. (…..crickets.....). I presume they'll get this fix done pronto. Mia is very sincere. Live in hope?

Crashing is frequent. I am spending $$$ needlessly, with no recourse. Please advise as to when this bug is fixed as I will not be playing CC Saga until it is.

I too have lost lots of boosters and lives. Most painfully the game snapped shut during the 5th Level of CCSoda's Bubblegum Hill twice! I thought the first crash was somehow something I did at my end only to repeat the debacle losing all the boosters I spent and many lives too. Then it sent me back to Level 1. Ahhhhhhhhhh! But the good news is that all the relevant people are working on a fix. However I've NEVER heard of any compensation for this sort of ordeal from King, and yes, ...it's happened before, usually after an update and somehow it's usually Microsofts error. They owe us a lot of Candy down there in Silicone Valley my friend!

Agreed. There must be a way to recover lost boosters, lives, and $$$ due to King's CC Saga bug that causes the game to crash frequently.

Lots of booster used and wasted on the new episode released not only due to difficulty but also crashing and closing of windows in the middle or towards the end of the game...…. wow.   What a mess

Somehow I doubt it! Yesterday I lost 4 boosters playing Bubblegum Hill during which I was given the boot (it crashed) just as I was finishing Level 5. Ugh! When I started back up it threw me back to the beginning. There have been problems like this before and nobody got booster compensation that I know of. Apparently, after they do an "update" to the game this often happens. Very frustrating. At least we know they are trying hard to fix it. Luckily it hasn't chucked me backwards on the main board as I'm at Level 1183. Yikes! These debacles are so unfair, eh!? Good luck!

What an odd situation Becky Bubblegum and Lizzy Lemondrop are having, eh?. You've got fish doing a weird disappearing aquatic fish-flop and striped candy thinking its bedtime and snoozing off! It's too uncanny!?? Well I have an oddity too. On my Windows 10 Laptop (CCSoda) I've had Bubblegum Hill available for 8 DAYS! Yes days. and right now it's display reads that it's going to expire in 3days  & 4hrs. Now that is REALLY bizarre as usually it's only around for 22hrs at a time. Not that it matters as the game is rather un-playable with all the sudden crashing. Getting dumped while on Level 5 is no thrill. If this is Microsofts mess then Silicone Valley owes us all some major candy my friends! LOL

Oh Mia! Thanks sooooo much for the update. It is very comforting to know that all required effort is being expended to fix my FAVORITE game of all time. It crashed 11 times today in 3hrs but I'm such a Soda-Head I just had to keep coming back. LOL! Great job Mia and please thank Elsa too. She originally told me that King was aware of the problem but her answer didn't allow for comment so I couldn't tell her how much we appreciate all the effort you guys put in on our behalf. #Heros!

Queen Mia, another person wrote today that it's happening on Windows 7 besides what Dawn wrote above.  I told them to please post a message here but they haven't done it yet.  I think this is definitely a Microsoft glitch if it's happening to both Windows 7 and Windows 10.

Hey Elsa! I think you're right. Somehow the last time we had a crashing problem like this it was really at Microsofts end and King set them to rights. I think that's what Mia meant by a "third party" in her comments to Guy, Oleg, Kaye, and I above. Sure hope you read my comments above complimenting both yourself and Mama Mia for all the help. Just knowing someone is hearing us and that the right folks get our message makes all the difference in dealing with the frustration.CCSoda is my only vice and today I scored 40min of play before it snapped shut on me. That was at 5:15am. Ah-ha! So I guess it's the early bird gets the candy today! LOL Thanks Again!

Hi Snagglepuss, yes I read your message and I thank you very much for the compliment.  I am almost positive that it's got to be a Windows problem.  I sent a message to Queen Mia to suggest that perhaps King contacts Microsoft to find out if it's on their end.  The last time there was a glitch it turned out to be Microsoft and they had to update to fix it.  I think it might be the same thing happening again.

Mine consistently crashes in Win 10 whenever it tries to access the Microsoft Store.  Turning off wi-fi for win10 gets around the crashes but it seems to be related to trying to handshake with the MS server.

I think Microsoft got better things to do then checking for candy crush issues....I have the same problem but I'm managing fine by playing trough the browser instead!

Hey Lulu! I tried that too. But the browser game doesn't have any of my boosters or the Quests I like to complete daily and as I'm up at Level-1183 I really NEED the boosters to stay on the Rainbow Road of rewards (which also isn't available on the King.com browser site). But I can guarantee that Microsoft DOES take this seriously, lest thousands of gamers start to spit venom their way. PR is everything to them! I'll bet in 24hrs things will all be copasetic. Still I cross my fingers though. Ha!

re bubble gum hill  I have just completed it  by doing 1 level at a time then exiting the game and doing level 2  and exiting all the way to level  5 if you exit the game yourself the game will keep your progress. it worked for me I hope it works for you but remember to exit yourself  because if the game crashes  it sets you back to level  1 in bubble gum hill. It works re each  normal level you pass exit and come back  then you keep  whatever  booster you have won  hopefully the game will be fixed soon

Hi guys,

Sorry if the vocabulary I used made you feel worse about it - I've changed it now. I'd also like to let you know that the reason it's taking long to be resolved is because it involves a third party and in this case, the technical problem is also coming from Windows. Hence the delay in resolution.

The the time being, the best is to use another platform to play. Again, we're sorry for the inconvenience.

I consistently get crashing in Win 10 in both Soda and CC. I have found that disconnecting Wi-fi in Windows during play avoids the crashing FWIW.

I also see that windows put out an Update last night - I opened up this morning took the updates and tried the Game - Almost automatically closed before I could even attempt the Game! So this Windows update did not seem to fix the problem.

Oh geez, ….I got the same notification from Windows and hoped exactly what you did. Thanks for the info I think I'll wait to do the Windows Update and at least be able to open and play a couple rounds of CCSoda, but not Bubblegum Hill as it's simply too painful to get chucked out nearing the end! LOL

I too got the notification of a pending Windows update and hoped for the best but thanks to Jim I won't go down that route for awhile until this thread has some further instructions. I'm ahead today as CCSoda let me play for 40min before it snapped shut. Ah-ha! Early bird gets the candy I guess. LOL

I'm on a Windows 10 Laptop and just opened my game and it vanished right at the get-go, Just like that time a few months back when it wouldn't open at all. Now can't even get a single game played. I don't know if that means it's getting better or worse, or perhaps it's being fixed as we speak! Live in hope!

I have also been experiencing game crashing since two days ago. It seems to happen most often when I am having the animation of candy fish moving across my screen (coincidence?) I play on a laptop with Windows 10.

I'm a Windows 10 user and my game has been crashing on and off since yesterday. It might be worth noting that the crashing isn't the only issue I've been experiencing. I was also unable to participate in the last stripped candy event -- which began three days ago. Not sure if that is related or not, but I'm glad to know I'm not the only one having problems with the game. Hope it is fixed sooner rather than later!

I hear you, the boosters are very helpful and it sucks that we don't have it on FB as well, but at least the game is playable (which is what we all want to do). I hope W10 will get fixed soon but don't think King can make Microsoft speed up the process....but yeah, fingers crossed :)

Game worked fine for over a year. Now crashing constantly. Tried every recommended fix including reinstalling and even a clean reboot with no change. Only thing I noticed is that the game works when wifi is disconnected but continues crashing as soon as wifi reconnects.

Hey Queen Mia! Any news yet? I just spent an aggravating hour trying to play CCSoda losing boosters, free time and lives. This ordeal is really starting to drag on. I sent a couple Tweets to Microsoft below. Perhaps it'll help. Ugh!

I too have lost a LOT of boosters and my daily bonus has been reset to day one. The message I keep getting is "Stritz crashed--no solution yet"

Hi Snagglepuss, it's now the weekend and since Queen Mia and King staff are in Spain they are 6 hours ahead of me, USA.  I thank you so very much for writing all that you do here.  I've got one huge headache from all of these glitches!  I just don't know what to tell the players anymore.  I am about ready to throw in the towel with regards to playing all games.  King games have glitches but they are not alone.  I play non-King games and you can't send/receive lives but since they aren't on Windows 10 they don't have the crashing. 

You might be right that everyone needs to contact Microsoft and stop throwing nasty messages at King for this glitch.  Also Facebook is another one that isn't taking care of their glitch with the sending and receiving of lives.  People wrote to them and so have the developers and no fix yet.  Are they just too large that they don't care about the games and fixing the glitches?

Hang in there Elsa! We need you!

I feel like pulling my hair out too. In fact you and Mia must be bald considering you've got even MORE on your plate than I do dealing with all these glitches. Duck! ....incoming spit-balls! The frustration is driving everyone bonkers. Ugh! I took a 24hr break from CCSoda on the off-chance that by magic it had been fixed. Ha! Fat chance! I think you may be on to something. Those big companies like Microsoft and Facebook often forget where their bread is buttered. It's disgraceful. King has given us the proper urgent response but is also at their mercy sometimes.

Anyway, just like you, I play other games and stayed away in hopes that the whole mess had cured, ....but alas, no such luck. CCSoda slapped shut in my face over and over again tonight. You need a break too. Players are rightfully annoyed but are smart enough to follow this thread-page for updates. Meanwhile, I know you probably bore the name first but I made a couple of "Elsa" cards to cheer you up. LOL

I followed advice found elsewhere on here to re-install the game through M/soft (Win10/laptop). I made sure I had no boosters to lose but my 450+ days got reset to day 1! On my first try on the hill, level 2 guess what? Yep, it crashed just as before! Strange it never once crashed when taking my money. It's time to go elsawhere I think. Thanks anyway!

Ouch! 450 to Day-1 is quite a drop! As some consolation, after a few days the Daily rewards go back to being as robust as before. I too had the game slap shut in my face. But worse, I was on Level 5 of B-Hill and just about to win when it CRASHED, Ahhhhhhh! I've tries other match-3 games but believe me the Crush games are the best. However wasting money is NO-JOKE and I wish these big companies would remember that without us they're NOTHING! Ha!

Hey Elsa, that's terrific! The card fits perfectly as your FB header! Looks great! I'm not a FB player but I'm going to join your group anyway. I only joined FB in order to comment here on King-Care. So my profile is a little thin with no "friends" on my list. Being 57 yrs old, it has taken me a little while to hop on the FB train, but I'm finally starting to chug along now. I live in Alberta, Canada and play all three Crush games, Soda (my favorite), Jelly, and the original CC, along with Bubblewitch-3, Farm Heros and a few more. Lately I've become enthralled with a game called Mirrors of Albion which is a seek and find adventure mixed in with match-3 puzzles. Anyway, as you said, I mustn't cloud this site with personal stuff. I'll share more on FB later.

Looks like you've determined this is DEFINITELY a Microsoft glitch, so I'm going to fire off a few more Tweets their way but nothing seems to help speed things up. (….crickets....) It's officially been ONE WHOLE WEEK since this quagmire sunk my Soda fun. Ugh! I wonder if Queen Mia has any ideas on how we can help? Hmm - now I can't even get the game to load in the first place... & FYI Papa Pear is now affected - won't reload lives.  Both while being pLyed through Facebook.  Work fine on King's own site so seems to be a Facebook problem for me.  Have to say that he graphics on King's own site aren't so good so may have to stop playing :(

Whats getting really annoying is that this game crashes and closes just as you successfully completed the level and when you go back you have to complete the game again and again just as you have been awarded an hour of sprinkled candy.  Way too much time is being spent waiting for the developers of Candy Crush to fix these issues.  The past several weeks players have to wait for fixes in order to be able to move on and it seems to be the usual pattern each week with the release of new levels.

Yes Jim, it looks like there really IS a Santa Claus! Ha! I won't jinx it and use the word "fixed" but I've just had the EXACT same experience as you. FINALLY! The crashing frustration nearly drove me nuts! Not to mention all I lost in this ordeal. My game is running BETTER than ever. Loads quickly, plays crisp and the animation scenes are back to normal.. Best of all I'm sitting atop Bubblegum Hill tonight. Silicone Valley owes us all a ton of candy my friend! LOL

Geez, ….I spoke too soon. My game is now STILL crashing too. Seems there must have been a partial fix, but it didn't last long and now CCSoda slaps shut every 10min during play which costs us boosters, lives, and Level advancement. Ugh! This mess has dragged on for way too long but at least we know King and Microsoft are aware of the disorder. I hope they hurry!

I too am having trouble with the game crashing on Windows 10. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it several times, the first time I reinstalled it it worked for half a game, reinstalled it again this morning and simply will not open, starts loading then disappears into the ether.Also, the game graphics were mostly fine a little while ago when I could still open it, but the graphics around the game board were massive.I am on a fully updated Windows 10 HP laptop.

have updated my windows10 after that i have not recieved new levels since two week i have updated ccs alsobut iam still at 3785 and others are at 3830i have tried several time to talk candy crush editors but they did not respond me now i have no any other option can i leave this game?

Oh nooooooooooooo! It's BACK! My Windows 10 laptop Soda game has started to CRASH again about every 10min during play! It worked perfectly yesterday for about 2hrs and I thought it was fixed but I spoke too soon. Geez, this is driving me nuts! The animation is now correct and the game loads and plays well but having it slap shut in your face for the last 10 days is getting beyond annoying! Any news about finally correcting this nasty glitch? Hey Elsa, looks like we're not out of the woods yet after all. Bummer eh?

There's also a problem with level 3798 which has a dead zone above the arrow.  If it's not occupied by a licorice or candy your in trouble.  No way the cherrie is going to drop through.... Needs check out.

Hi Snagglepuss, thank you so very much for these pictures.  I love them and I thank you for taking the time to create them for me. Wooooo! Hooooo!

Guess who's sitting pretty atop Bubble-Gum Hill tonight folks? Yep! It's me! I've been playing for about an hour and a half and NO crashing. Plus which the game is loading faster, the game-play is crisp,  and the animated background scenes are back to normal too. This really is the best game EVER when it runs this well. Yip-eee! I'm afraid to say it's fixed and jinx the fun, so let's just say ...so far, so good, eh? Kudos to King, Elsa, and Queen Mia for handling this ordeal so well. Gotta run back to my CCSoda that I just left running in another window,  but had to pop in quickly and say THANKS! Phew!

Get a load of these shots! Ah-ha!

My games (Candy Crush and Candy Crush Soda Saga) both automatically close themselves while I'm in the middle of playing. Then I have to reopen and start all over. I only play on Windows 10, Chrome. The games were working perfectly fine until about 6-8 weeks ago, now there are issues every time I try to play. Tonight I even passed level 953, the check mark was there, the extra points were adding up, then the game shut down. When I opened it again, I had to start all over on 953 again, even though I had just passed it. Also, there has not been a down time without Bubblegum Hill. It shows up saying how long it will be available, then when the countdown in done, it shows up and starts completely over again. I really hope you get this fixed soon, as I am so tired of the game closing itself right when I'm about to complete a level, or right after I've completed a level and I have to start over again.

Hi Meaghan, my suggestion is to stay away from Chrome right now because there is a big glitch and the studio is aware of it.  

This is what a King Admin wrote about Chrome:

There is an issue with the new Chrome version. Check more info there: https://care.king.com/en/candy-crush-saga/laoding-issue

So my suggestion to you is to play the game on Opera or Edge.  Even Firefox seems to have some glitches lately.

I tried today on Firefox, and yes, there were still issues. I also tried on Edge, and again, issues there, too. I don't have plans on downloading any other browser, so those 3 are all I can try.
